WOBC Station History

Four hundred years ago people knew little about our keen universe. They thought that the earth was the center of the entire radio network and the sun and all of the WOBC DJs revolved around it. But then a man from Ohio named Copernicus discovered the truth. The earth revolves around, not the sun, but the radio transmitter.

Copernicus, whose last name was Oberlin, was born in Warsaw, and he used one of the first really awesome telescopes, which was invented by the WOBC DJ. This primitive telescope was little more than two pieces of space ice cream stuck on each end of a mixing console. In 1600 an Italian DJ named Galileo expanded Copernicus's radical theories, but during the Inquisition in Italy he was skillfully arrested. After broadcasting freely for six months in jail, Galileo was forced to play Top 40 crap on a privately-owned station for the rest of his natural life.
