An Update from the Board

WOBC_late50

We wanted to share what WOBC accomplished last semester before the new semester of programming begins. Let’s take a look back at WOBC fall 2013.

Last Semester..
-A record number of applications came in, diversifying the musical atmosphere of WOBC. We welcomed loads of new djs from both the college and community and had so many unique shows. A major highlight was an influx of applications from the community. Check out archived playlists here.

-Workgroups sorted through the barrels of new albums we receive every week from promotion companies. Genre Directors led their workgroups in deciding which albums to add to our database and vaults. The new shelf in the control room was updated frequently with new albums.

-Charles, the director Studio B, kickstarted Live From Studio B. He welcomed local and touring bands into WOBC’s recording studio and recorded an EP for each of them. Major congrats to Charles for an amazing start to a great program! Check out all the sessions here.

-The Winter Term Station Managers, Matan and Zoe, began updating our security policies for upcoming years. So much gratitude to them for helping to improve our amazing community!

-Sophie and co. organized an amazing week of programming dedicated to sexualized violence awareness, amplifying many voices from the campus and beyond, including FORCE. You can find a complete archive of the week here and under the “News” tab.

If you are a listener or a member of the community and have any suggestions for the upcoming semester of programming, please contact any of us. Our contact info is located here.

Here’s to a great semester!
