American Prison Systems is a talk show with Francesca Krihely about the state of American Prisons and the structures that cause cycles of recidivism, incarceration and crime. This program hopes to revive the resistance to the Prison Industrial Complex on Oberlin Campus and Community, as well as bring knowledge about local resources and nation-wide projects to listeners.
This episode features three of Francesca’s students from her Experimental College class about contemporary problems in the prison industrial complex. They discuss issues of recidivism, the death penalty, juvenile justice and local projects aimed at reducing incarceration.
Special thanks to Amber Walker, Kayla Brandt, Hadass Silver and Tazri Afrin for sharing their thoughts and knowledge on the show.
